Advantages of Cold-knife Dissection with Adjunctive Suction Cauterization Adenotonsillectomy: A Useful and Safe Surgical Technique for Pediatric Patients

Background and Objectives To introduce cold-knife dissection with adjunctive suction cauterization (CDASC) technique for pediatric adenotonsillectomy to evaluate the advantages of this through short long-term follow-up results.Subjects Method Enrolled in study were 492 subjects a mean age 6.5 years, who underwent via CDASC technique. Surgical outcomes evaluated postoperative bleeding rate, days normal diet (as measure pain), improvement obstructive symptoms at regular visits. Intraoral photography lateral neck radiography analyzed surgical outcomes.Results None enrolled patients revisited hospital due hemorrhage, indicating 0% immediate delayed Most showed consumption activity within 3 days. Postoperative intraoral after 6 12 months graded as (grade 0) 77.5% 79.7% patients, respectively. adenoid nasopharyngeal ratios significantly reduced (p<0.05) no recurrence snoring regrowth demonstrated during period months.Conclusion Our seems have several including less pain, bleeding, scarring, preoperative symptoms. We suggest that our is very useful, safe, effective method surgery adenotonsillectomy.
